WHAT WE DID

As lead cultural consultant for Mandarin Oriental Mayfair (MOMAY), we conceived, curated and delivered the hotel’s inaugural art exhibition, forming the cornerstone of a sustained cultural programme with Mayfair Design District (MDD). We orchestrated the curatorial vision, artist commissions, installation planning and public-programme roll-out. The show launched on 15 September (in time for both the London Design Festival and Frieze London art weeks), ran through to 19 January 2026, and included a dedicated artist-talk breakfast featuring curator and MDD co-founder Anne‑Laure Pingreoun alongside artist Eleanor Lakelin and cultural strategist Samantha Williams. This first exhibition sets the tone for many to come in 2026 and beyond. 

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

Mandarin Oriental Mayfair and Mayfair Design District present a deeply immersive exhibition that reimagines the four classical elements – earth, water, air and fire – through contemporary sculpture and design. Anchored in the hotel’s architectural language, each work reflects elemental forces as both material and metaphor. Participating artists include Eleanor Lakelin, Marlène Huissoud, Gareth Neal, Tadeáš Podracky, Studio Nucleo, Aneta Regel, Thomas Joynes, Nina Casson McGarva, Cathryn Shilling, James Harris, Nicholas Arroyave-Portela, Satyendra Pakhalé and Bertil Vallien. From fossilised forms and living-root sculptures to blown-glass creations and theatrical light installations, each piece invites guests into an environment where nature is experienced not as backdrop but as active, living presence – immersive, quietly powerful, raw and refined.
