WHAT WE DID
For London Craft Week, Savoir and Mayfair Design District present The Language of Colour in Contemporary Design, an installation exploring colour as an expressive and sensory dimension of contemporary craftsmanship. Hosted in Savoir’s Mayfair showroom, the exhibition brings together a curated selection of works that examine how colour, materiality and form interact to shape atmosphere, perception and emotional response. Positioned within Savoir’s evolving perspective on rest and wellbeing, the project considers the interior as a composed environment, where each element contributes to a more balanced and restorative experience.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
In a world defined by constant stimulation, colour becomes a powerful yet often overlooked tool in shaping how we feel, focus and rest. This exhibition asks: how can colour be used not only to express, but to support a deeper sense of wellbeing? Through the lens of contemporary craft, colour is approached as a language. It carries emotion, signals identity and creates rhythm within a space. From bold interventions to subtle tonal compositions, the works presented explore how colour and materiality can influence perception, encourage calm, and create environments that feel both intentional and personal. Rather than isolating objects, the exhibition considers the dialogue between them, proposing a holistic vision where design contributes to an atmosphere of quiet balance, sensory clarity and enduring comfort.
